EMA Black

Employers & Manufacturers Association (EMA)

The Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) has supported kiwi businesses to succeed since 1886. We're New Zealand's largest business association, providing strong advocacy, expert legal consultation, training and advice to our 7100+ members.

The Employers and Manufacturers Association (EMA) is proud to be an official Industry 4.0 programme partner with Callaghan Innovation. The Industry 4.0 Demonstration Network delivers a platform for manufacturers to connect and showcases technologies that can revolutionise the manufacturing processes.

Our interactive, immersive Smart Factory Showcases demystifies Industry 4.0, inspiring and arming manufacturers with knowledge about generating greater efficiency and productivity through technology. With first-hand examples from world-leading kiwi company Nautech Electronics, manufacturers can see Industry 4.0 technology in action and understand the opportunities for their own business.

Smart Factory Tours offer businesses the opportunity to showcase learnings and how they've successfully implemented new technologies to meet their manufacturing demands. These tours foster connections and learning and bring the complex world of technology into practical focus.

The EMA also enables businesses to accelerate their Industry 4.0 journey using the Smart Industry Readiness Index (SIRI) assessment. This tool provides a high-level roadmap, industry benchmarks, and KPIs. Assessment participants can also connect with the Industry 4.0 Demonstration Network with case studies and factory tours.

These case studies and our webinar series are additional resources that further drive the potential of Industry 4.0 for New Zealand manufacturers. Manufacturing is a crucial arm of EMA's work – as our name suggests – and partnering with Callaghan Innovation for the Industry 4.0 Demonstration Network is just one way that we support manufacturing businesses to succeed. Through our advocacy, legal, health and safety and people experience services and broad learning portfolio we arm businesses with the tools and advice they need to thrive.
