Management capability and innovation for Auckland businesses
My work as a Growth Advisor / Navigator supports businesses in the Auckland region as they advance their innovation journey. I have a background in food production and marketing, marketing and business strategy consulting, as well as having owned and operated an SME manufacturing business.
I am skilled at assessing the capability development and innovation needs of businesses to maximise their growth. This means I am helping businesses to access the right support at the right time to assist their growth journey. I’m proud of having nurtured several startups from scratch, seeing the founders grow and flourish.
I am inspired by Simon Sinek who encapsulates the qualities required to be a great leader - selflessness, empathy and grace under fire. I often refer business owners to his book ‘Start With Why’ because they seek clarity in the clutter of running a business, and this can help them find it.
When I worked in the food industry I managed a large portfolio of products from conception and launch through the product life cycle. I also worked developing menu items, sourcing ingredients, liaising with suppliers, and creating operational procedures. Sometimes I ate too much of my own creations.
A key outcome from my work is making Auckland a better place to live and work. I do this by helping to strengthen local businesses for sustained economic growth and creating employment. When I am making connections I try to surround business owners with people who can help them on their journey.
