Manipulation of material properties

I am a Research Scientist in the Advanced Engineering and Materials team at Callaghan Innovation. My work involves the study of materials, allowing me to manipulate their properties and develop innovative materials with enhanced performance, durability, and functionality. I specialise in materials characterisation, mechanical and physical properties, microstructural analysis, cellular materials, and soft sensors.

Before joining Callaghan Innovation, I worked as a researcher at the University of Auckland, focusing on the application of smart and functional materials and structures as sensors and actuators.

My motivation comes partly from the belief that even the smallest contributions I make can significantly impact creating a better world. I am inspired by people who embrace innovation and challenge boundaries, constantly pushing the limits of what is possible.
