Managing our Amazing BioTechnologies Group

I work as the Group Manager for the Biotechnologies team. Since 2004 I have managed a number of research teams at Industrial Research Ltd and Callaghan Innovation including the Photonics Team, the Advanced Materials Group and the Advanced Manufacturing Cluster.

My science career has involved research on the synthesis and characterisation of novel organic compounds as the active materials in dye lasers, organic magnetic materials, and for photonics applications.

My formal training is as a synthetic organic chemist and I’ve also completed formal studies on small business innovation and entrepreneurship. I also served as Callaghan Innovation's representative on the KiwiNet Investment Committee for 5 years.
