Capital Education workshop

A guide to raising capital in New Zealand

Equity capital raising in NZ can be complex. Capital Education’s expert insights and support helps demystify the process, so your business can thrive.

What is Capital Education and what are the benefits?

Capital Education is designed to help businesses understand the equity capital raising process in New Zealand. Through the series of videos below and an online workshop, industry leaders share vital insights on raising capital in today’s turbulent world. As well as providing helpful tips on where to begin, these experts explain how to identify and avoid critical fish hooks along the way. These insights are crucial in helping New Zealand businesses like yours to successfully raise capital in a crisis – and to make the process as stress-free as possible. Capital Education workshops are also an ideal opportunity to ask a seasoned facilitator your specific questions about capital raising.

Who is Capital Education for?

Capital Education is ideal for startups and early-stage businesses that are about to start – or are considering – capital raising. The online workshop will provide the information businesses new to capital raising need to make informed decisions as they start the process. The session will introduce the key elements of capital raising, and so is best fit for businesses yet to raise financing from professional investors – such as angels and early-stage venture capitalists – and/or businesses with some experience in this space but that want to learn more.

How does Capital Education work?

All businesses have open access to the Capital Education videos with experts (see below). However, the key aspect of this programme is the interactive online workshops, typically held once a quarter. As well as exploring the fundamentals of capital raising, the facilitator-led workshops will equip businesses with the tools to raise the capital they need to build a thriving business, even in a COVID-19-impacted environment.

How can you sign up and how much does it cost?

Capital Education is completely free, including the interactive workshop. Keep an eye on this page for upcoming workshop dates and a link for registration, or
