Aronui | Sail before the wind

The rapid advance of technology and improved connectivity is creating a new set of exciting opportunities for business leaders and entrepreneurs. Dubbed the fourth industrial revolution, this changing landscape offers much more than a chance to increase productivity through computers and machines.  It’s an opportunity for business leaders to completely reinvent their product, overhaul how they work, and create completely new business models.

We know it can be daunting to lead and implement large-scale change programmes, so Callaghan Innovation’s experts created the Aronui Industry 4.0 Navigator.

Over two half days, you and your senior team will step away from your workplace and jump into the unique, interactive Aronui workspace at our Auckland HQ: think interactive Science Museum exhibit, meets uber-cool boardroom.

Our impartial facilitator will guide you through a series of interactive learning activities, to introduce you to Industry 4.0 concepts and dispel some myths, and help you to create an achievable and realistic strategic roadmap for the future.

Unlock your true potential and sail before the wind: ahead of your competitors and toward long-term, world-beating success.

What is Industry 4.0?

Industry 4.0 - also referred to as the fourth Industrial Revolution - is the broad terminology to describe the new technologies and data - such as cloud computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and Artificial Intelligence - that are revolutionising the worlds of manufacturing and distribution.

Callaghan Innovation’s experts are here to help you cut through the technology hype, to reinvent your business model and find genuine value and growth.

Is this right for me?

  1. Open to eligible New Zealand businesses that are current Callaghan Innovation customers.
  2. Maximum group size: Six.
  3. Teams are required to attend two half-day sessions, ideally a week apart, at our Auckland HQ.

Aronui is designed for senior leadership teams who are responsible for the strategic direction of the business. Aronui works for businesses of all sizes, from all industries and sectors that are:

  • Producing goods and services
  • Working on optimising their processes
  • Actively looking and engaged in finding new business value
  • Enthusiastic and excited about playing their part in creating a better New Zealand.

The workshops, hosted in the interactive Aronui workspace at Callaghan Innovation’s Auckland HQ, take place over two half days, usually a week apart. Ahead of your senior team’s arrival, you’ll complete a brief assessment so our facilitator can better understand your business and tailor the content and agenda.

The interactive sessions have three key pillars:

Think Big: Assess your business goals and potential.

You will gain an understanding of Industry 4.0 and the aspects most relevant to your business. Your facilitator will explore appropriate global and local case studies, and bust some of the myths around the topic.

Start Small: Start building a strategic roadmap.

As a team you’ll dive into our interactive tools to analyse your own business, identify the areas where technology and data would be most beneficial, and start creating a strategic roadmap to follow to meet your needs.

Scale Fast: Learn how to implement that plan to fulfil that potential.

You’ll start working through your roadmap, again with our interactive tools to support you. Your team will learn how to bring it to life quickly and prioritise investments.

After the sessions our experts will follow up to see how you’re progressing against your new roadmap and guide you towards further support that Callaghan Innovation can provide.

Frequently asked questions

I have a specific manufacturing problem I need to solve. Can Aronui help?

The Aronui sessions aren’t a deep dive into specific technologies to solve specific challenges. You might still benefit if you’re open to assessing the strategic direction of your entire business, rather than just focussing on issues one-by-one.

Do you offer a virtual session instead?

We created the space so your team can truly focus on and get immersed in the topic. Trust us, you’ll appreciate not being distracted! Plus, it’s a great team-building opportunity.

How can you help after we’ve created our strategic plan?

Our experts will follow up after the sessions to see how you’ve been getting on. They’ll help guide you towards other relevant programmes and grants that Callaghan Innovation has available.
