Funding and Contract Management Lead
My work managing the Funding & Contract Management team involves setting the terms of Callaghan Innovation’s R&D grants relationship with R&D businesses. Over twenty five years in the finance industry sees me well suited to the role of managing our grants portfolio. I have worked in both lending and general financial services.
A proud career highlight was being General Manager of Crown Asset Management Ltd, working to recover over $260 million of taxpayer funding from defunct finance companies after the global financial crisis.
It’s important to me that taxpayer dollars are spent appropriately. Callaghan Innovation invests money in research and development. In 2021, R&D expenditure by businesses reached $2.8 billion but there are only 18,000 full time R&D personnel working on R&D (Stats NZ). This shows the amazing value for money and return on investment that R&D delivers to business. I enjoy being with this great team of people who deliver great customer service to our R&D businesses.
