Applied Technologies

Specialist in AI and computer vision

I am a senior research scientist in the Applied Technologies, Data Vision team at Callaghan Innovation.

I have spent my career researching and helping industrial customers in the field of computer vision, specifically in 3D sensing and 3D processing. My work focuses on extracting valuable information from 3D images to help businesses in solving practical problems that increase efficiency and accuracy..

Along with my team, we have a patent on a position and orientation system for 3D scanning.

More recently I’ve been exploring the field of AI because machine learning is now being used for computer vision applications. My current R&D work focuses on knowledge bases where contextualised information is stored and can be used to gain new insights. I have also been working on using large language models to extract information from both structured and unstructured data such as knowledge graphs and csv files.
