Callaghan Innovation and other government agencies have received a number of complaints from the public about the New Zealand Small Business Assistance Centre (nzfundinggrants.org).
The Commerce Commission has issued a media release warning about this website, which Callaghan Innovation and other government agencies echo.
The Centre describes itself as “a private research and publishing organisation” and provides “a searchable online directory of government grants and loans offered by the New Zealand government” for a fee.
The Centre is not affiliated with Callaghan Innovation, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment or any other government agency.
All of the information about the government’s financial support for businesses is available for free online or by calling the relevant government organisation, such as Callaghan Innovation or New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, or our Regional Business Partners.
To get an overview of the government’s support for small-to-medium sized businesses, the best place to go is business.govt.nz.
