Lower Hutt Fire: Clean up at Gracefield site

On Monday 10 December we experienced a fire in one of the research buildings at our Gracefield site in Lower Hutt. All staff were safe and accounted for and the fire was extinguished by late afternoon.  

Since the fire, as a precautionary measure, only essential staff have been permitted on site while we assessed the situation and  start the clean-up. 

 

13 December 2018, afternoon update
We have now finished the clean up of the site and it is safe and secure for staff and tenants to return to work from 9.00am Friday 14 December. 

Customers can reach out to their key contact to discuss any impact for them. Thank you for your ongoing patience as we work through the impacts of the fire. 

12 December 2018, afternoon update

Access restrictions will remain in place through Thursday with only essential staff on site and others working from alternative locations. 

Our customer managers will be in contact with relevant customers if there are any delays anticipated to our services.

12 December 2018, morning update 

Currently access restrictions will remain in place for today and possibly Thursday. We're preparing for a staged return to business as usual, and in the short-term we have essential staff only on site, with others working from alternative locations.
