Callaghan Innovation today announced the appointment of one of New Zealand’s most senior business journalists to its Marketing, Communications and Experience team.
Karyn Scherer has joined New Zealand’s innovation agency as Senior Copywriter after a 30-year career in the news media, including senior roles at the NZ Herald, Herald on Sunday, and NZ Listener.
She was most recently investigations editor at the National Business Review, where she was named inaugural Business Journalist of the Year by the New Zealand Shareholders’ Association.
Karyn is looking forward to uncovering the stories of some of New Zealand’s most exciting scientific and technological developments and business applications, many of which remain unknown to the public.
“I have always been fascinated by the amazing potential of New Zealand science and technology to transform the business sector, and I can’t wait to share more of their stories,” she says.
Callaghan Innovation’s General Manager of Market, Engagement and Experience, Erica Lloyd, says the organisation is delighted to have someone of Karyn’s calibre joining its team. She replaces Maria Slade, who is now Business Editor at The Spinoff.
