The NZ CleanTech Mission has welcomed KiwiNet and Ara Ake to the partnership, alongside existing partners Callaghan Innovation, Auckland Unlimited, New Zealand Growth Capital Partners, Science for Technological Innovation National Science Challenge and Auckland UniServices.
CleanTech is critical for a zero-carbon, climate-resilient future, with new technology playing an increasingly important role in our response to climate change. CleanTech in New Zealand is creating a high-value export industry and new employment opportunities while helping to solve our most pressing environmental challenges.
Both KiwiNet and Ara Ake are well-established in New Zealand’s CleanTech innovation ecosystem and thanks to their wealth of experience and unique perspectives, they will each bring specialist expertise to the mission.
For 10 years, KiwiNet has been supporting public research organisations to commercialise amazing research innovations that create big impacts for New Zealand. KiwiNet champions people who commercialise research by helping them to access the tools, connections, investment and support they need to create amazing new products and services. By collaborating on projects, combining our capabilities and sharing our networks, we help one another deliver better commercial outcomes for New Zealand.
Ara Ake is New Zealand’s Future Energy Centre, working with businesses to facilitate demonstration projects of new and emerging emissions lowering technologies. Ara Ake helps New Zealand innovators access financial and technical support to develop their technologies, brings in offshore tech and expertise and helps unravel regulatory and commercial barriers. They share knowledge from across the energy innovation landscape and help connect the dots between an idea and reality.
KiwiNet and Ara Ake will be working alongside our existing partners to help New Zealand CleanTech innovators solve real world problems, routinely raise capital, and collaborate with innovators in adjacent sectors to bring about breakthroughs.
Callaghan Innovation CleanTech Business Adviser Phil Anderson says he is thrilled to have these two outstanding organisations on board this crucially important mission.
We’re committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for NZ’s CleanTech ecosystem while working alongside Ara Ake, KiwiNet and our other fantastic partners. He waka eke noa.
Through the NZ CleanTech Mission, like-minded organisations have established a partnership that will deliver, partner and advocate for initiatives that help create the best ecosystem possible for environmental innovation. The partnership will build collaboration across CleanTech innovators, investors and customers, as well as secure dedicated resources to lift the CleanTech ecosystem.
