Callaghan Innovation in collaboration with Agritech New Zealand are leading a delegation of companies on an Agritech mission to evokeAG in Melbourne, Australia from 18 - 22 February 2019

The mission

evokeAG, an international event hosted by Agrifutures Australia, will bring agritech innovators, start-ups, leading organisations, investors, farmers, universities, governments and industry experts together to share knowledge on a range of topics. 
During the trip you will have access to the latest trends, challenges and opportunities in the Australian market. While visiting a range of locations in the Melbourne area, you will gain insight and understanding on innovative farming techniques that will highlight:
• Provenance and blockchain
• New farming and food opportunities 
• Automation and robotics
• Artificial Intelligence
• Advanced sensor technology
• Big Data and digitisation
• Investor landscape
Delegates will be able to: 
• Validate their technology, market and business strategy for the Australia market
• Learn new technology, latest trends, business models and strategies in this market
• Connect with potential partners, technology providers, capabilities and investors 
• Identify new market opportunities
• Understand through pre-visit preparation workshops, capabilities that sit across NZ when developing tech products 
• Better understand technology fit when looking to “go global”
• Created valuable connections with other NZ agribusiness and build global connections

Delegate criteria

In selecting New Zealand delegates, we are looking for companies who want to be leaders in Agritech innovation and have a technology solution suitable for international markets. 
We are looking for a diverse mix of Agritech organisations, some that are existing exporters looking to learn about new technologies, or early stage organisations who are looking to “go global”. All delegates will need to have clear objectives for attending the delegation, and the capability to apply and implement learnings on their return. 
As part of the New Zealand delegation, participating companies will receive:
• A pre-mission workshop and 1:1 sessions prior to departure to ensure you can “hit the ground running”
• Networking opportunities with a range of New Zealand Agritech organisations and capabilities
• A customised in-market New Zealand programme on the final day to understand opportunities for companies looking to connect into the Australian market 
• Specific event and hotel booking instructions to ensure the New Zealand delegation stays connected
• Transportation and logistics arrangements for the 5 days.

Estimated costs for attending the conference and immersion programme include:
• Return flights to Melbourne, approx NZ$800 
• Food cost, approx NZ$500 
• Hotel accommodation for min of 5 nights, approx NZ$1,200
• Conference costs, discount price of NZ$900 exclusive to the Mission (normally NZ$1,200)
• Immersion programme is free of charge
• Total approx. NZ$3,500

All information will be treated as commercial-in-confidence. 
Completed registration forms need to be received by close of business Wednesday 19 December 2018.

• Tuesday 12 February - 1-day pre-mission workshop in Auckland, which is compulsory for co-funded companies
• Monday, 18 February - Melbourne Investor, Innovation and Research Centre visits

• Thursday 21 February - On-Farm visits
• Friday 22 February - Customised engagement
