Callaghan Innovation Deputy Chair, Robin Hapi, announced today that Chief Executive Dr Mary Quin is resigning from Callaghan Innovation.
“The Board would like to thank Mary for her contribution to the organisation and wish her well for the future. As the inaugural CEO, Mary provided the leadership and vision the organisation needed through its start-up phase and has established an enduring foundation for its future,” Robin Hapi said.
According to Dr Quin “This is the ideal transition point for new leadership, and gives me the flexibility to pursue other professional and personal interests both in New Zealand and overseas.” Dr Quin was recently appointed to the Board of Westpac New Zealand.
Dr Quin’s last day will be 31 July. The Callaghan Innovation Board is in the process of appointing an interim Chief Executive, while starting the search for a permanent replacement.

Following the resignation of Mary Quin as Chief Executive of Callaghan Innovation, the Board is pleased to confirm that Hēmi Rolleston has been appointed as the Interim Chief Executive. Currently the General Manager - Māori Economy and Business Innovation Services at Callaghan Innovation, Hēmi’s interim appointment provides continuity of direction for Callaghan Innovation. It will take effect from 1 August, and conclude upon the commencement of a permanent Chief Executive for Callaghan Innovation.
