About C-Prize 2017
C-Prize is an incentivised technology competition that pushes the boundaries of what’s possible through technology.
C-Prize challenged New Zealand innovators and entrepreneurs to turn industries on their head by creating the next generation of wearable technology to improve human performance and wellbeing. The challenge had three technology tracks: Living healthier, Working Safer and Playing Smarter.
The challenge met with a great response. 92 teams submitted entries that covered many technologies, industries and issues affecting New Zealand - from language impairment, stroke recovery, mental health in young adults to staying safe in the great outdoors.
The finalists
Ten finalists were selected in July 2017. They have been mentored and helped by Callaghan Innovation staff and industry experts in the lead-up to a demo day held on 24 November, where team members pitched their entries to a panel of judges.
