The ATI Bill passed its second reading in Parliament on 8 November, incorporating changes recommended by the Select Committee.
These include greater emphasis on collaboration, a requirement for the Minister to consult with the ATI Board when appointing an advisory panel, and exclusion from a limiting provision in the Crown Entities Act, so that the ATI can retain its surpluses.
The bill is on track to be read a third and final time before Parliament rises for the Christmas/New Year break.
Details are available on the Parliament website, including the Hansard record of the second reading.
