What is Digital Lean?

Digital Lean is a capability-building programme that will boost your business’s competitiveness and performance. It uses proven Lean thinking methods to implement Industry 4.0 technologies. You will have access to a Digital Lean service provider to help you build capability over a maximum 12-month period.

Digital Lean will help your business to: 

  • boost your competitive advantage, better avoid disruption, and attract a more diverse workforce
  • identify where Industry 4.0 can be integrated with your signature processes to increase productivity 
  • build upon your existing Lean capability and gain confidence to invest in digital technologies 
  • gain actionable insights from your data
  • build capability to think big, start small and scale fast through Industry 4.0.

Who is Digital Lean for?

Businesses that want to take their existing Lean capability to the next level. You may have participated in the Callaghan Innovation Lean programme or equivalent training/capability building to do with continuous improvement, theory of constraints, or similar. The programme is designed to build upon your existing Lean capability.

Digital Lean is ideal if you want to make a start with Industry 4.0, need help with where to begin, and need specialist expertise to work alongside you to implement the changes needed to realise the benefits.

How does Digital Lean work?

To begin, you will complete a simple application, which helps us to determine what your Industry 4.0 transformation could look like. We will come back to you within two working days with next steps.

If funding is approved, you will then select your Digital Lean service provider and work with them to come up with a high-level implementation plan over the next 12 months.

Implementation costs over 12 months vary depending on your customised implementation plan. You pay 60%, we fund 40% (up to a maximum of $20,000).
