Abstract | An image-processing approach to estimating excess delay in measured time-varying impulse response measurements of mobile radio channels was presented. This method uses bispectral averaging to estimate the mean impulse response of the measurement which is used to produce a matched filter. This is used to produce a 2D edge detector which is applied to the measurement data. The instantaneous excess delay of the channel is estimated by fitting a polynomial to the edge detector output, which was shown to be visually accurate even where the measurement data has a low peak signal-to-noise ratio. |
