Abstract | This paper derives expressions for the direct to reverberant ratio improvement in a room with single and multichannel sound systems. This measure is an improvement over the potential acoustic gain which does not distinguish between direct and reverberant sound intensity. The analysis is applied to single channel systems and multichannel systems with both equal power cross-coupled and non-cross-coupled processor channels. Finally a matrix analysis is presented which is applicable for general processor power gains and multiple source and receiving points. © S. Hirzel Verlag • EAA. |
