AbstractHighly regular microstructured porous aluminium samples show excellent properties for use in transducers. Three dimensional modeling reveals by varying sample porosity from 0 to 75 %, acoustic impedance in the range 3-15 MRayl can be realized, which can be used to improve impedance matching between the transducer and sample material. ©2009 IEEE.
