Are you a food manufacturing firm looking to innovate? The Food Innovation Network can help you with specialist facilities and expertise.
What is the New Zealand Food Innovation Network?
Callaghan Innovation supports the New Zealand Food Innovation Network (NZFIN) which is a national network of science and technology resources created to support the growth and development of New Zealand food, beverage and nutraceutical businesses of all sizes.
How can it help my business?
NZFIN gives you access to facilities and expertise needed to develop new products and processes. They can work with you from proof of concept right through to commercial prototyping and export production.
NZFIN’s regional Business Development Managers will help advise you during your product development journey and connect you with a network of industry experts.
Who is it for?
NZFIN works with New Zealand businesses looking to commercialise a new food, beverage and nutraceutical product or plant. Businesses at any size or stage of development can get involved.
Where is NZFIN located?
NZFIN has facilities located throughout New Zealand.
Auckland - FoodBowl
The FoodBowl is NZFIN’s largest facility. It is ideal for companies who want to undertake larger scale proof of concept work, or produce commercial runs of new products for local or export markets.
Waikato - FoodWaikato
FoodWaikato offers businesses an environment suited to new product production, including development support and New Zealand’s only open access commercial-scale 500kg/hr spray dryer.
Palmerston North - FoodPilot
The Palmerston North FoodPilot has an extensive range of ‘benchtop’ scale food processing equipment perfect for formulation and proof of concept development.
Christchurch - FoodSouth
FoodSouth is the South Island hub of the NZFIN, offering business development support and purpose-built innovation facilities for new product development and small scale proof of concept commercial production.
NZFIN also has an office in the Hawkes Bay.
